After three months of working on our new corporate website, we’re finally ready to release it this weekend. It has been a lot of hard work, but I think it will all be worth it when everyone gets to see the new site. Our team has done an incredible job of managing the workload. Hopefully everything goes smoothly this weekend, though I’m sure there will be one or two last minute fixes needed. I’ve given everyone on the team the day off on Monday to take a much deserved breather. I’ve also given everyone Custom Stress Relievers in preparation for the deployment. While I know we’ve prepared as best we can, I have a feeling we’ll have a little bit of stress to deal with before we’re done. In the end though, I find that the things that I’ve worked the hardest for are the ones that give me the most rewards. I’ve very excited to see everyone’s reaction to the new website!

He Wanted to Go into Video Production and Editing

This guy at my job is a little on the peculiar side when it comes to what comes out of his mouth. He says the most outlandish things for no reason, just to make people wonder about him sometimes. He said he wanted to go into video production and editing to get some high ranked videos up on YouTube so that he can become super famous like the ones one there now that have over a million views! I guess he has not figured out yet that those viral videos are mainly just recording on phones or webcams and not intended to become viral when they are posted. The poster did not put them up and say they want to be the next YouTube sensation! But apparently that is what he thinks is going to happen. I did not have the heart to tell him that the likelihood of that happening is slim to none.
My employees were grim. We were losing a marketing war with the hot dog stand across the city. They had put out promotional pens; we countered with free hot dogs. Then, they put out branded tote bags. How can you compete with that? Their name was emblazoned on the side of these attractive, high quality bags, permeating the city and getting the message out about the location and deliciousness of the stand. We felt beaten. Tote bags are awesome. People can carry books, computers, trinkets, even groceries in them, and their versatile nature means that people were taking them everywhere, from school to concerts to the supermarket. Everywhere, everywhere I saw their blasted logo, taunting me. Their lines were longer each day, and ours shorter. Finally, I faced reality. The tote had defeated us. We joined forces with our erstwhile competitors and became a hot dog juggernaut, expanding across the city and the state!
Yesterday would have been a perfect skywriting day. The field is open and vast, there are a few clouds and scant winds. The temperature is just right for playing outdoors and the whole environment is very apt for just hanging out at the field on a clean and soft picnic mat. The point of view from where I stood can handle each letter of sky writing which takes about a mile high, created at around a minute each letter. One airplane can fill about fifteen miles of the sky with its successive sweeps, and seen within a 30-mile radius. Usually, airplanes need to fly above 7,000 feet in order to be conducive for writing. It is too bad that most of the perfect skywriting venues can be found in obscure places. The urban cities where fairs and parties are held have too much smog to really help emphasize the typed sky letters.
